FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Elizabeth, PA) – Monica Douglas, candidate for State House in the 39th Legislative District today called for Representative DeWeese to resign his position as Majority Leader in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
“It has become increasingly apparent with the cloud of Bonusgate hanging over the Democratic House Leadership that the era of “politics as usual” in Harrisburg continues,” stated Douglas.
“Residents of the Commonwealth deserve better. One has to question with the magnitude of corruption associated with the Bonusgate scandal, the validity of the claims by the democratic House leadership to have no knowledge of the wrongdoing,” said Douglas. Douglas further stated, “I believe that the public is smarter than what the democratic leadership gives them credit for”.
“We need to end the era of professional politicians in Harrisburg,” commented Douglas who is running against a 23 year incumbent.
Ms. Douglas, a Republican is running for State House in the 39th District. She is the President of Elizabeth Borough Council. Ms. Douglas’s opponent is State Representative Dave Levdansky, a 23 year incumbent and Chairman of the Finance Committee.
